Smiths Falls council received the September budget update this week.
It aligned with the end of the third quarter where the projected budget allocations should be at 75%.
Councillor Jennifer Miller expressed some concern in one budget item, sitting at 63%.
As of the end of September, the town’s collected $154,280 of the projected $244,873 at the end of 2025.
Treasurer Paul Dowber said the line item looks worse now than it will be at years-end.
Miller hopes there’s a more in-depth discussion on how to enhance tourism initiatives for 2026.
