Lanark County is joining communities across Canada in marking National Housing Day on Nov. 22, 2025, after a formal proclamation from Warden Toby Randell.
Randell, who also serves as mayor of Carleton Place, said the day highlights the importance of safe, adequate and affordable housing. He noted that many partners — from governments to local agencies — play a vital role in supporting people who need stable housing.
“Housing plays a critical role in our lives and has a profound impact on our overall well-being,” Randell said. He added that Lanark County continues to invest in housing solutions that support vulnerable residents, improve affordability and encourage new ideas in housing development and service delivery.
The proclamation calls on residents, businesses and community groups to recognize the day and work with provincial and federal partners to ensure everyone has a place to call home.
