A 17-year-old from Portland is facing impaired driving charges after a single-vehicle collision early Wednesday morning.
Leeds County OPP say an officer was approached just after midnight on November 19th by someone reporting a crash with the driver trapped inside.
Paramedics and the Rideau Lakes Fire Department helped extricate the teen, who suffered only minor injuries.
Police say the driver provided breath samples well over the legal limit.
The youth is charged with impaired operation, driving with a blood alcohol concentration above zero as a novice driver, and having liquor readily available.
The accused cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act and is scheduled to appear in court in Brockville at a later date.
The OPP is reminding drivers to report dangerous or erratic behaviour at 1-888-310-1122
