The Westport Food Bank says this holiday season is one of its most important ever, with demand holding steady and community generosity stronger than ever.
The RCL Automotive Build a Mountain of Food Drive rolls into Westport from noon until 4pm this Saturday.
Volunteer Jim Kenny says the food bank supports many people throughout the year, with numbers rising and falling depending on the season. He says Christmas is a critical time for families facing food insecurity, but it also brings out the best in local residents.
Kenny summed up the year quickly for us.
He says a large team of committed helpers takes on everything from operations to greeting guests who rely on the food bank.
Kenny adds that the village’s generosity is “phenomenal,” noting that Westport residents consistently rally around the food bank during times of need.
He adds it’s all made possible by the community – The volunteers and donors who make a big difference in their neighbour’s lives. news1 Moved File from Markets\ON East\Holding to Markets\ON East\Daily Stories @ 11/24/25 03:55 PM
