A new low-barrier addictions and mental health hub is now open in Lanark County, offering what local leaders call a meaningful step forward for people seeking long-term recovery and stability.
Lanark Leeds and Grenville Addictions and Mental Health says the HART Hub’s Lanark site officially began welcoming Monday, December 8, with a second site in Leeds and Grenville in Brockville, set to open in early spring 2026.
Funded by Ontario’s Ministry of Health, the HART Hub is part of a provincewide network designed to give people fast, accessible support close to home. Associate Minister of Mental Health and Addiction Vijay Thanigasalam attended the ribbon cutting.
MPP for Lanark-Frontenac-Kingston John Jordan, who has plenty of local health care experience is pleased to see the HUB come to Smiths Falls.
The Lanark site features 17 beds — eight for residential addiction treatment and nine for transitional supportive housing — providing what officials describe as wraparound care for people working toward independence.
Clients will have access to counselling, primary care, rehabilitation workers and community partners offering housing and social supports.
Associate Minister Thanigasalam says the two local MPPs worked incredibly hard to make the new hub happen.
Jordan says the HUB helps reduce pressure on emergency rooms, police and paramedic services, and helps people live again.
The program is geared toward people facing unstable housing, substance use challenges and mental health concerns.
There is no cost to clients. Self-referrals are now being accepted at 1-343-260-HART.
