Perth campaign sparks rush of winter clothing donations for local kids
A&B Ford in Perth is seeing a surge of community support as its Cozy for a Cause winter clothing drive, in partnership with St. John Catholic Elementary School, helps local kids stay warm this winter.
The campaign collects new winter wear for children aged four to eleven, including jackets, boots, jogging suits and warm socks.
Assistant Sales Manager Meta Swanson says the need in the community is growing as costs continue to rise.
A Ford Maverick parked in the showroom is filling quickly with donations.
Swanson says the opening day response far exceeded expectations.
While many items are coming in, Swanson says waterproof mittens and gloves are still in short supply.
And there’s added incentive. Anyone who donates to the cause will be entered into a draw for a brand new scooter.
Donations can be dropped off at A&B Ford during business hours: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays. The campaign runs until December 21.
