There’s still time to donate to Toonies for the Table, collecting donations for The Table Community Food Centre at local businesses in Perth.
The community-driven campaign, led by Councillor Anne McCrae, has repurposed more than 100 Mason Jars into donation vessels on check out counters across town.
McRae says its another chance to help those in our community in need.
Supported by the Downtown Business Improvement Association, the Chamber of Commerce, and many local shop owners, the initiative is hoping to raise $20,000.
McRae is amazed by the effort put for by local shopkeeps.
McRae says Thompson Environmental Solution, a company owned by her Brother, Full Speed Builders, Shannon Family, Women and Men of the Tay and Randy and Shannon McPherson – Home STEPS Program have all contributed to the campaign’s success.
The Councillor also sites the Lions Club, The Perth Legion, and senior homes among others supporting the now-annual community event.
You can take part by dropping a Toonie (or whatever you can spare) in one of the labelled jars at businesses around town until December 19th.
McRae also offers thanks to her team of volunteers including: Veronica Airth, Debby Robertson, Marilyn Manson, and Penny Schacht.
