Perth’s Christmas Day dinner returns as a full-town celebration at Code’s Mill
The annual Perth Community Christmas Day Dinner is once again set to turn Code’s Mill into a gathering place for the entire town, offering a free holiday meal, music and connection on Christmas Day.
John Stewart, owner of Code’s Mill and longtime host, says the dinner has grown into much more than a meal during its 41-year history.
The amazing Christmas meal is served at noon. The buffet-style meal includes turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, gravy and a wide selection of donated desserts.
Live music, holiday décor and even a visit from Santa help create a festive atmosphere.
More than 90 volunteers help make the day possible, from cooking and serving to assembling gift baskets and delivering meals. Organizers expect to prepare about 500 meals, including 130 to 150 deliveries to residents who cannot attend in person.
Stewart stresses the dinner is for everyone in Perth and surrounding areas.
While the meal is always free, Stewart says donations are especially needed this year to help fund the long-running tradition.
