A 10-year-old child injured in a head-on collision east of Perth has died in hospital, Ontario Provincial Police say.
The collision was reported on Highway 7, between Drummond School Road and Drummond Concession 7, on Saturday, Dec. 13, just before 4:30 p.m.
Police say an OPP officer was on patrol in a marked cruiser when it was struck by an oncoming pick-up truck. Three people were inside the truck at the time of the crash.
The child suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a regional trauma centre by Air Ornge. Police say the child was pronounced deceased the following day. The two other occupants of the pick-up remain in hospital with serious injuries.

The OPP officer was also taken to hospital and is recovering from serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The Lanark County OPP investigation is ongoing, with help from OPP collision reconstructionists and the Traffic Incident Management Enforcement team. Anyone with dashcam video or information is asked to contact police.
