The Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital Foundation is still looking for donations over the holiday season, as there has been no shortage of demand for lifesaving hospital equipment not covered by government funding.
Foundation Chair Christine Fair says many residents don’t realize every stretcher, bed and diagnostic tool is paid for entirely through community donations.
This year’s priority list is significant. The hospital needs 10 defibrillators at $20,000 each, four ventilators costing $32,000 apiece, and new stretchers at $6,000 each.
A major focus of the holiday campaign is monthly giving. Fair says even small, automatic donations can transform local health care.
Donations can be made at psfdhfoundation.com, by calling 343-881-GIVE, or by visiting foundation offices at either hospital site.
