The RCL Automotive Build a Mountain of Food campaign is wrapping up another successful year, delivering major support to food banks across 11 communities.
In Smiths Falls, residents rallied behind the Smiths Falls Community Food Bank, donating 22,572.5 pounds of food and $10,551.50 in cash.
Perth recorded the largest totals, with 71,500 pounds of food and $10,462 in cash donated to the Perth Good Food Bank.
In Almonte and Carleton Place, donors contributed a combined 6,254 pounds of food and $5,172 in cash.
Chris Craig of RCL Automotive said expectations were cautious heading into the campaign.
Instead, Craig says community support exceeded expectations.
Build a Mountain of Food co-founder Jim Wright said the campaign’s strength comes from collective effort.
88.1 myFM has been associated with the Build a Mountain of Food Campaign since just after its inception.
Craig says that partnership is a great way to showcase the difference-makers over the course of the six weeks.
Our newest station, 92.3 WOW came aboard this year to help spread the word about the effort and plans to be a part of it in 2026.
Wright says every year means a great deal to him.
Both extend their deepest and sincere gratitude to everyone who donated, volunteered their time, or hosted one of the stops.
Final totals will be released in January, as donations continue through the end of the year.
