The Lanark County Paramedic Service has wrapped up another successful “Fill the Ambulance with Food” holiday food drive, collecting thousands of dollars and dozens of boxes for local food banks.
The annual drive took place Dec. 6 and 7 across Lanark County and brought together paramedics, volunteers and residents to support families during the busy holiday season.
Police say the campaign collected 87 boxes of non-perishable food and essential items, including diapers and toilet paper, along with $3,554 in cash donations. All contributions will support local food banks through the Build a Mountain of Food campaign.
Strong community participation marked this year’s drive, with help from LCPS paramedics and their families, as well as volunteers from the U-15 Lanark United Girls Volleyball Team, the Carleton Place Canadians Junior B Hockey Team and the U-11 Mississippi Thunder Kings Hockey Team.
“We are incredibly grateful for the continued generosity of residents across Lanark County,” said LCPS Chief Travis Mellema. “Every donation helps ensure families have what they need this holiday season.”
