Even though plans to close some local offices of the Southeast Health Unit have been paused, it was up for discussion at Mississippi Mills recent committee meeting.
CAO Ken Kelly listed the services he learned would be delivered by mobile means upon the closure of the Almonte Sexual Heath Clinic.
He was asking councillors for direction to aid Mayor Christa Lowry’s response to the Health Unit.
Councillor Jane Torrance was clear in her support of keeping the clinic open for a variety of reasons, citing one troubling statistic.
Councillors in attendance agreed to communicate to the Health Unit that the Almonte office was critical to residents.
