A routine traffic stop in Smiths Falls led to an arrest connected to an earlier investigation.
Police say an officer stopped a vehicle on December 1, 2025. During the traffic investigation, one passenger was identified as being wanted on an outstanding warrant.
The individual was arrested at the scene without incident.
As a result, 19-year-old Samantha Colles of Smiths Falls has been charged with flight from a peace officer and dangerous operation. Police say the charges are linked to a separate investigation from September 7, 2025, when Colles allegedly fled from a traffic stop.
Colles was later released from custody with conditions and a scheduled court date.
