The owners of Fusion Greens, a family-run hydroponic urban farm near Almonte, cut the ribbon on a new heated-water system on December 17th which will let them produce their popular fresh crisp hydroponic lettuce year round.
It’s available at YIGs in Carleton Place, Almonte and Stittsville. Owner Svitlana Haidaichuk noted her arrival with family from Ukraine was difficult at the beginning.
Their extra-large greenhouse and original business launch was made possible thanks to a very welcoming community and help from plenty of people. Svitlana found out very early in her enterprise journey that it was about much more than growing great greens.
At the ribbon-cutting she expressed her deep gratitude to her new Canadian community for their support and said it was proof of what can be achieved when everyone works together.
You can learn more about Fusion Greens by checking out their Facebook page. They hope to expand their facility in the future, thanks to growing demand.
