The Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital has declared an Internal Code Orange due to a high volume of emergency department patients, increased hospital admissions, and staffing impacts.
Hospital teams continue to monitor the situation, with staff already on-site and redeployment plans in place to maintain essential services. Patient safety and care remain the hospital’s top priority.
The emergency team continues to assess patients based on urgency, meaning those with the most serious conditions are treated first. As a result, some patients may experience longer-than-usual wait times in the emergency department.
