Families with young children are being reminded that Kindergarten registration with the Upper Canada District School Board opens Monday, January 5th.
The board says starting school is an exciting milestone, and early registration helps schools plan for the 2026–27 year while supporting a smooth transition for students and families.
Parents and guardians can use the board’s school locator tool to confirm which school their child should attend based on home address and transportation eligibility. Many schools will also host Kindergarten information sessions in January and February, followed by spring open houses, giving families a chance to meet staff and learn about programs.
Registration remains open throughout the year, but signing up in January allows families to take part in transition activities.
All registrations are completed online through the My Family Room parent portal. Families needing help are encouraged to contact their local school.
Many schools also offer on-site before- and after-school child care options.
More information is available through local schools or by calling 1-800-267-7131.
