Ontario Provincial Police officers removed 766 impaired drivers from roads across the province during the annual Festive RIDE campaign, aimed at keeping communities safe over the holidays.
From Nov. 20, 2025, to Jan. 1, 2026, Ontario Provincial Police officers worked around the clock, often in harsh winter conditions. Police dedicated more than 20,000 hours to the initiative and conducted more than 11,000 RIDE checkpoints across Ontario.
During the campaign, the OPP issued 150 immediate roadside suspensions. These involved drivers who registered in the Warn Range or belonged to Zero Tolerance driver classes, including young, novice and commercial drivers, who are required to have no alcohol or drugs in their system.
Police say the results highlight the importance of continued enforcement and public awareness when it comes to impaired driving.
Motorists are reminded that RIDE programs are carried out throughout the year, not just during the holidays, as part of ongoing efforts to save lives on Ontario roads.
The OPP also thanked residents who reported suspected impaired drivers, saying those calls played a key role in helping keep roads safe.
