The Fraser Institute released school rankings of 3,052 public, catholic and independent schools and ranked them based on EQAO scores from 2023-2024.
The report factored in scores for Grade 3 and 6 reading, writing and math levels and arrived at a median of six out of 10 possible points.
Of the 16 area schools included in this report, 10 fell under the average score, including all three Smiths Falls schools.
The top scoring elementary school is The Queen Elizabeth in Perth with an 8.7 tally.
All three elementary schools in Almonte eclipsed the average score of six, with the lowest ranking school being Maple Grove in Lanark at 2.0.
It’s important to note, not all area schools were included in the report.
