Bill Janes is the new chair of Cornerstone Landing Youth Services.
Janes is excited to continue the housing first model he says Cornerstone has been quite successful with.
While on the board for only nine months, Janes has a long history in human services.
He returned to school at 30 for nursing after spending his 20s in the trades, as he felt a calling to help.
Janes spent over 25 years working as a nurse in the mental health field, including with Lanark County Mental Health, retiring in 2020.
He says the non-profit who went on a major fundraising kick last year to avoid shutting down, is in a better state now.
He assumes the role from Terrilee Kelford, who stepped down to start pro-bon counselling work for at-risk youth.
