ConnectWell Community Health is offering free income tax help again in 2026 for modest-income residents across the region.
The Community Volunteer Income Tax Program is now taking phone appointments year-round, with in-person tax clinics set for March and April.
Trained local volunteers will complete tax returns at no cost, helping people access benefits they may be missing.
ConnectWell says filing a return can unlock key supports such as the Canada Child Benefit, the Trillium Benefit, housing programs, and Ontario Works or ODSP.
Volunteers can also help people file up to 10 years of back taxes and include important documents like SIN numbers, T4 slips, rent receipts and medical expenses.
The program is run in partnership with the Canada Revenue Agency and is designed to reduce barriers for people who cannot afford professional tax services.
Appointments can be booked by calling 613-257-7121 or 1-800-667-2617, extension 3105. Organizers say early booking is encouraged to avoid delays as tax season approaches.
