A Tay Valley Township resident is facing an impaired driving charge following an incident in Almonte.
Lanark County OPP say paramedics called police just after 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, after finding two unresponsive people inside a vehicle parked in front of a business. Police say the man and woman regained consciousness and left before officers arrived.
OPP later located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was arrested and taken to the Carleton Place OPP detachment for testing.
As a result of the investigation, 43-year-old James Henry has been charged with operation while impaired by drugs.
Henry was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Feb. 23. His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
