Lanark County is looking to attract more registered practical nurses by offering new, more flexible part-time opportunities.
The county says it is hiring part-time, on-call RPNs with lower availability requirements, allowing nurses to work just a few days each month. The change is aimed at newly graduated nurses, retirees who are not ready to fully leave the profession, and others looking for a better work-life balance.
According to Lanark County, the roles are designed to give nurses more control over their schedules while still staying active in the health-care field.
The positions may also appeal to stay-at-home parents or workers balancing multiple jobs.
In addition to the on-call roles, the county says permanent part-time rotations are also available for those seeking more consistent hours.
Officials say the updated approach helps the county meet staffing needs while recognizing changing workforce expectations.
