The Town of Smiths Falls lowered its flags to half-mast last week to honour and remember Richard Dugdale, a longtime employee who served the community for more than two decades.
Dugdale began his career with the Town in 1989 and worked for 25 years before retiring in 2014.
He was part of the Community Services department and a valued member of the Parks and Recreation team.
Colleagues say he was a familiar and friendly face to residents and visitors in local arenas and parks.
Town officials say his dedication and professionalism helped support community events and programs.
The Town says its thoughts are with his family, friends and co-workers during difficult time.
