Ashley Killeen, the executive director of the Ottawa Valley Family Health Team’s new Carleton Place Regional Health Hub, recently updated Carleton Place council on its progress since it started welcoming patients last October.
She emphasized a recent change in Ontario’s policy of matching patients with primary healthcare providers.
She noted that this change would benefit those area residents that were still seeing doctors from their previous communities. She said the change helps to reduce the fear of losing an existing MD while searching for one closer to home.
Killeen reported an added benefit of using Heath Care Connects new policy.
The Carelton Place hub currently has 15 doctors serving over 17,000 area residents with room to add three more MDs. Add your name to the list here.
