Rideau Lakes council has received a report on compliance issues at Lower Beverley Lake Park, also known as Delta Park, ahead of ongoing discussions on the Tourist Campground Licensing By-law.
The park, developed in 1967 as a Centennial project, now includes roughly 235 campsites, 11 cottages, two bunkies, washrooms, service buildings, and recreational facilities.
The report assessed how the township-run campground measures against proposed licensing standards.
It found that most of the park’s 11 Class IV sewage systems will require upgrades to meet current regulatory expectations, ranging from minor fixes like effluent filter replacements to full replacement of tanks and leaching beds. No immediate system failures were identified.
Building and planning compliance issues were also highlighted, particularly in seasonal trailer areas where decks, sheds, and other accessory structures may not align with permits on file. Aerial imagery shows incremental expansion of the campground since 2008, including increased trailer use in previously open fields.
Council voted to receive the report for information, with no immediate action directed.
