A Beckwith Township resident has been charged following an investigation by the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police.
OPP say officers were dispatched to a residence on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2026, in response to a reported physical altercation. As a result of the investigation, a 39-year-old man was arrested and charged with four counts of sexual assault.
Police allege the offences occurred over a period of several years.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
The name of the accused is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.
Police remind the public that victims of intimate partner violence and sexual assault are not alone. Anyone in immediate danger is urged to call 911.
