The Town of Perth is advising residents of a temporary road closure on Herriott Street to make room for winter festival fun in Perth.
Herriott Street, between Gore Street and Wilson Street, will be closed from today (Tuesday, Feb. 10) until the afternoon of Tuesday, Feb. 17.
The town says the street will be transformed into a sliding hill for the Frost and Fire Winter Festival. The hill will begin partway down Herriott Street, near the Code’s Mill parking lot entrance, and curve toward Wilson Street.
Driveways, businesses and parking lots will remain accessible. The Herriott Street entrance to Code’s Mill will be closed, but the Wilson Street entrance will stay open.
Sidewalks will remain open, but on-street parking will not be available. Barricades will allow local traffic only.
The sliding hill will be staffed on Saturday, Feb. 14. It will remain open Sunday and Monday without staff, and participants are asked to use caution. Cleanup begins early Tuesday morning.
