The Lanark County Public Works Department is reminding residents that crews are responsible for sanding, salting and plowing about 561 kilometres of county roads throughout the winter season.
Officials say the work helps keep travel safer during snow and ice events across the county.
Residents are asked to report county road conditions and concerns by calling 613-267-1353 or toll free at 1-888-952-6275, extension 3100.
Callers should provide their name, phone number and the location and nature of the concern.
The county is reminding drivers that under the Highway Traffic Act it is an offence to park or stand a vehicle in a way that interferes with traffic or snow clearing.
It is illegal to place snow or ice on a roadway without permission from the road authority.
Drivers are urged to slow down and adjust driving to match weather and road conditions. Lanark County thanks residents for cooperation.
