The Town of Perth is providing an update on the proposed subdivision by Caivan Limited.
The case, related to Caivan’s application to build over 1,000 homes on the former Perth Golf Course lands has been under Tribunal-led mediation. Following that process, the details of a potential settlement were reviewed by Perth and Lanark County councils in principle in the fall of 2025. At that time, Perth council indicated its intention to hold a public meeting to share information with residents once the formal Minutes of Settlement move forward in the Tribunal process.
The Town says the settlement is still subject to approval by all parties involved in the proceeding. Until those approvals are finalized and the Minutes of Settlement are complete, staff say they are not in a position to release settlement details or schedule the anticipated public meeting.
Perth officials stress they remain prepared to host the meeting as soon as the required inter-party approvals are in place. Once confirmed, the Minutes of Settlement will be made publicly available and a meeting date will be announced. The Town notes the timing of the public meeting is directly tied to the completion of the Tribunal approval process.
The Town acknowledges residents are looking for clarity on next steps and says it remains committed to transparency. Updates will be posted at Engage.Perth.ca/Caivan as new information becomes available. Questions can be directed to CAO Michael Touw.
