The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville and the Municipality of North Grenville are hosting a public event focused on building affordable housing faster and at lower cost.
The free event runs Friday, March 27, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Urbandale Arts Centre in Kemptville. Preregistration is required.
The session will highlight ready-made home designs from the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation Housing Design Catalogue.
Organizers say the catalogue helps communities speed up construction by offering near permit-ready designs that meet building codes and local climate needs. The Ontario packages include accessory dwelling units, fourplexes, a sixplex and stacked townhomes, including accessible-ready layouts.
Local builders and engineers will present alongside county and municipal staff. St. Lawrence College will also attend with hands-on training displays and a mobile lab.
Registration is available through the Leeds and Grenville website.
