The Ontario Provincial Police will host a recruitment event in Smiths Falls on Sunday, March 8, as part of activities marking International Women’s Day and encouraging more women to consider a career in policing.
The Smiths Falls session will give participants the chance to speak directly with recruiters, ask questions about the hiring process and take part in collaborative activities focused on the OPP’s key assessment areas.
Police say the event is designed to support women at different stages of their career journey, including those who are cisgender, transgender, assigned female at birth and non-binary.
The OPP says it is committed to building open, accessible and respectful workplaces that reflect the communities it serves across Ontario.
International Women’s Day is marked globally on March 8 and celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women, while also promoting gender equality.
The Smiths Falls event is part of a series of provincewide sessions taking place.
