Smiths Falls police say a local man has been charged following a criminal harassment investigation linked to intimate partner violence.
Officers with the Smiths Falls Police Service located the 49-year-old man on Feb. 1. He was wanted on outstanding charges stemming from an earlier investigation that began Jan. 8.
Police allege the incident involved criminal harassment connected to an intimate partner violence case.
The accused, a Smiths Falls resident, was arrested and charged with one count of criminal harassment.
He was later released from custody with conditions. Police say he is scheduled to appear in court at a later date to answer to the charge.
Authorities did not release further details about the investigation.
