Tay Valley Township man, John Jordan, has been charged with impaired driving following a crash on Althorpe Road.
Lanark–Frontenac MPP John Jordan’s office confirmed to LanarkLeedsToday.ca that he is not the man named, and the shared name is a coincidence.
The Ontario Provincial Police said officers with the Lanark County detachment were called just after 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2026, about a vehicle in the ditch. Officers arrived and located the vehicle on Althorpe Road.
After speaking with the driver, police arrested him and transported him to the OPP detachment in Perth for testing.
As a result of the investigation, the 60 year-old Jordan was charged with operation while impaired – alcohol, and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80 milligrams.
He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on April 13, 2026.
Police say his driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
