At Perth council’s recent meeting, a motion to authorize up to $40K on a regional recreation facility study was debated. Council’s committee previously approved the plan in principle, which involved equal funding from 3 neighbouring townships for a total of $160K.
Councillor Jim Boldt was concerned about publicizing the amount the group was willing to pay a consultant in advance of getting bids
Town CAO Michael Touw said it was part of being open and accountable.
In the end council ratified the committee decision to proceed with jointly advancing the study.
