A volleyball player from Perth is making waves across Ontario after a standout season in college athletics.
Liam Hansen, a student-athlete at Cambrian College, has earned three major honours from the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association.
Hansen was named the OCAA Overall Scoring Champion and West Division Scoring Champion. He was also selected as a West Division First Team All-Star.
The Perth native is the first male volleyball player in Cambrian history to win the overall league scoring title.
His performance helped lead the Cambrian Shield men’s volleyball team to a first-place finish in the OCAA West Division during the regular season.
Hansen’s triple-award season highlights the growing impact of local athletes competing on the provincial stage, bringing pride back home to Perth and the wider Lanark County community.
Cambrian made it to the finals this past weekend, but fell to Humber which won its 6th straight OCAA title. It is Cambrian’s second silver in a row.
