To say Peter McTavish is a long-serving member of the Civitan Club of Perth would be the understatement of the year as he’s now entering his 46th year with the organization. He tells us how it began over 4 decades ago.
In that time he’s served in a variety of roles that have given him a lot of different ways to contribute to the success of the club.
When asked why he continues to volunteer, he says it’s the eagerness of his club members to lend a hand.
The Civitan Club of Perth began in 1965 and ever since have been helping people around the area by organizing fundraisers, collecting for homeless shelters, volunteering in local retirement homes, building gardens for seniors to enjoy and much more. They operate a medical bank to lend a wide variety of devices and equipment to those in need and of course operate bingos at the hall and on the airwaves on 88.1 myFM.
