Ontario maple producers make some of the best syrup in the world. During Maple Weekend, April 4th and 5th, they’ll show you how it’s made and much more. Leann Thompson of Thompsontown Maple Products tell us what’s on this adventure menu.
Many producers will offer free samples of fresh maple syrup and confections. Visitors can enjoy pancake breakfasts, sugar-bush trails, sugar making demonstrations, taffy on snow, horse-drawn sleigh or wagon rides, and more as Martin Ennis of Ennis Maple Products teases us with some details
This free, family-friendly, two-day event is hosted by the Lanark & District Maple Syrup Producers, and is the perfect way to celebrate spring and the annual maple syrup season, while learning more about how maple syrup is made, from tree to table. Thompson tells us why you’ll have more fun by visiting more than one producer.
The events run from 10 am to 4 pm both days and area participating sugar-bushes include
Fortune Farms Sugar Bush, Almonte
Fulton’s Sugar Bush & Maple Shop, Pakenham
Golden Moment Farm, Athens
Jameswood Maple, Lanark
Oliver’s Mapleworks, Perth
Temple’s Sugarbush, Lanark
Thompson’s Sweet Retreat, Clayton
Thompsontown Maple Products, Clayton
Wheelers Maple Products, McDonald’s Corners
