A woman accused in a homicide near Smiths Falls will remain in custody after being denied bail at the Perth Courthouse on Thursday.
40 year-old Erin Mackie faces a charge of first-degree murder in the death of Robbie Thomson. The charge was laid in October 2025, two years after Thomson was last seen in October 2023, prompting a police search.
Thomson’s body was located hours after murder charges were announced.
Two other people are also charged in the case: Christopher Fenton, 48, of Montague Township, and Joshua Belfiori, 34, of Kingston.
Court records indicate Fenton co-owns the property where Thomson’s body was found in Monatague Township. The same property is also connected to another missing man, Robert Lambert, who has not been seen since the summer of 2018.
Mackie’s bail hearing took place over four days. Evidence presented during the proceedings is subject to a publication ban.
None of the allegations have been tested in court.
