John Jordan’s calling on a review of the existing rail travel and have Alto consider other routes and options as the chorus of opposition to the high-speed rail project gained another voice.
The Lanark-Frontenac-Kingston MPP says infrastructure already exists for quick-moving trains through VIA Rail, but not without traffic problems.
Stressing it is a federal project and this is only his opinion, Jordan feels the same as most of rural Ontario when this proposed corridor is discussed.
When asked by lanarkleedstoday.ca about The Town of Smiths Falls piecing together a business case to be included as a stop in Alto’s project, Jordan was brief.
Public consultation on the proposed project is open until April 24th.
