Lanark-Frontenac MP Scott Reid continued his campaign against the Alto high-speed rail project with a stop at Lanark County council.
He says it’s a project the country cannot afford.
Reid says public interest will wane when details get added with the Alto high-speed rail project, so opposing noise needs to be made promptly and continously.
Reid is also questioning some of the figures the federal government’s projecting
Reid says the high-speed rail at $90 billion would add about 7% to the country’s annual deficit.
He’s encouraging citizens and all levels of government to continually oppose the project in hopes the feds listen.
Lanark County council previously opposed the project collaboratively with the Eastern Ontario Warden Caucus.
