A special after-hours dance is set to bring new energy to the Festival of the Maples as it celebrates its 50th anniversary in Perth.
The Hospice Hub is partnering with festival organizers to host a “Plaid Party” dance on April 25 at the Crystal Palace, with proceeds supporting local hospice care.
Pull on your Plaids and join the fun after the festival starting at 7pm.
The event revives a long-standing tradition once tied to Maplefest, now returning for the milestone year.
Joan Stephenson-Bowes of the Hospice Hub says the idea came together through community collaboration and a desire to mark the anniversary in a meaningful way.
Stephenson-Bowes say the night will feature live music by Open Road, along with maple-themed food and drinks from local partners including breweries and distilleries.
There will also be line dancing, raffles, and fundraising activities, with all proceeds going to support hospice services in the region.
Bowes says the fundraiser shines a light on a major gap in local care.
The age-of-majority event begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $35 and available online, with limited availability expected at the door.
Tickets are $35 and on sale at: ticketsplease.ca. Some may be available at the door as well.
