Smiths Falls is entering an agreement of up to $138,000 with Bell for the Computer Automated Dispatch system to be used with the Next Generation 9-1-1 system.
Fire Chief Rick Chesebrough said getting a quote from Bell was challenging, with the figures ever-changing.
Chesebrough reiterated what the new-look system includes.
Through the course of discussions, Chesebrough said Bell offered 24 hour deadlines for the town to either accept or decline provided quotes, which came from a multitude of different departments.
The agreement falls within the allocated town budget.
