Festival of the Maples in Perth is celebrating a milestone this year, as golden as the treasured product it highlights. Festival chair Brian Perkin tells us of the birth of this welcome event that turns 50 on April 25th.
The ‘Great Canadian Lumberjack Show’ is a new special attraction this year, with professional teams competing in woodcraft sports. Perkin gives us the details.
There will be three performances at 10:30am, 12:30pm and 2:30pm between Perth Town Hall and the TD Bank, temporarily named Lumberjack Lane.
This year, the festival is teaming up with the Hospice Hub in Perth for a special Maplefest ‘Plaid Party’ evening dance with live music by ‘Open Road’. Festival Chair Brian Perkin says, “Thanks to a grant from the Perth & District Community Foundation, the Hospice Hub will keep the party going.
Tickets are $35 and on sale at ticketsplease.ca
