Co-owner of Perth Pharmasave and Tay River Health Centre Becky Bellamy says anti-depressent medications are not a cure-all, only a part of one’s journey with their mental health.
Bellamy says pharmasicists should only complement a larger team surrounding a person’s mental health journey, and encourages anyone starting a new medication to ask questions.
Starting anti-depressents presents a different challenge for teens and young adults, because of their body makeup.
Bellamy was asked for any overarching advice for people struggling with their mental health, and are considering taking or already on anti-deppresents.
Bellamy says a pharamcists role in a mental health journey is to answer any and all questions asked of them, and make clients aware of varying side effects the drugs could cause.
