A tender was issued last week for the first phase of the $18.2 million trunk watermain project in Smiths Falls.
The first stretch of road reconstruction will span from the Rideau Avenue South intersection at Lorne Street to the One Hershey Drive easement and end at the new water tower.
Public Works Director Paul McMunn confirmed they’ll have chats with Lanark County Paramedic Service when the time comes for the work, as their HQ sits on Lorne Street.
McMunn told council what the first road reconstruction steps will look like.
The tender closes May 28th. Staff will then sift through applications and present a recomendation for approval to council, who will then greenlight the construction, or request a different option.
