Construction continues on schedule at the CHIP affordable housing project on Halton Street in Perth. Crews from Saumure Construction have made steady progress through the winter, with the 15-unit building now fully enclosed.
Interior work is advancing, including insulation and installation of individual heat pumps for each unit.
The $4.6 million development is a partnership with Carebridge Community Support and will offer a mix of one- and two-bedroom units, including accessible options. Occupancy is expected this fall.
Meanwhile, CHIP has updated its fundraising campaign, noting it has reached the halfway mark of its $300,000 goal.
Organizers say another $150,000 is needed to help complete the project and provide affordable housing for 15 local families. Find out how you can help at perthhousing.ca
