A private airplane crashed near the Smiths Falls-Montague Airport on Sunday night.
The pilot suffered minor injuries.
OPP were called around 9 p.m. after reports of a crash north of the Russ Beach Airport.
Police confirmed the pilot was the only person on board.
Reports said the pilot was in contact with the OPP via cellphone. A drone was reportedly called in to help with the search and the plane was found shortly after.
Police have not confirmed the type of aircraft, where the flight began, where it was headed, or what may have caused the crash.
The pilot’s identity has also not been released.
The incident follows a similar crash at the same airport in November 2024, when a Cessna 172 lost power during takeoff and landing practice and crashed about half a kilometre from the runway.
That pilot was also alone and suffered minor injuries.
