Smiths Falls police say two men are facing charges after an investigation into online threats led officers to seize firearms from a local home.
Police said they received information on April 28 about threats posted online that raised concerns for public safety. Officers began an investigation and arrested a suspect at his residence without incident.
Police said firearms were also found inside the home and seized.
Peter Harris-McGregor, 31, of Smiths Falls, has been charged with uttering threats, two counts of careless storage of a firearm or ammunition, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
He was held in custody pending a bail court appearance.
Police said further investigation identified the owner of the firearms. Joey Harris, 38, of Carleton Place, later turned himself in at the police station.
He is charged with breach of firearms regulation and was released on conditions.
