The Smiths Falls Legion hosts a Veterans Coffee gathering today in the Lancaster Room from 10 a.m. to noon. The event is open to active and retired military members, RCMP personnel and their families. Organizers say Legion membership is not required for those wishing to attend the community gathering.
Aspira’s Carolina Retirement Community hosts a spring open house today and tomorrow from 1 to 4 p.m. daily. Guests can enjoy refreshments, tour suites, and meet residents while exploring amenities. The event offers an opportunity for prospective residents and families to experience the community firsthand in a welcoming setting.
Gagne Homestead and Rescue will bring its emus to Vodkow in Almonte from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. tomorrow during a fundraising event supporting the Almonte General Hospital. Organizers will also host a bottle drive alongside the community-wide garage sale initiative raising awareness and funds for local hospital projects.
The Lanark Highlands Food Pantry will host a community dinner tomorrow at St. Andrew’s United Church Hall, 115 Clarence St. in Lanark. The meal includes hamburger steak with fried onions, baked potato, salad and dessert. Organizers say admission is by donation to the food pantry, while takeout meals cost $10.
The Merrickville Wooden Boat Show will return to 253 Amelia St. in Merrickville tomorrow and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Organizers say more than 65 antique and classic boats will be on display during the two-day event. Live music, food vendors, boat sales and family activities are also planned.
The 20th annual Peter Larmand Outdoors Kids Fishing Tournament will be held tomorrow Lower Reach Park in Smiths Falls. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine. Registration costs $10 per child, $25 for a family of three and $5 for each additional child.
St. Francis de Sales CWL will host a Trunk and Treasure Sale tomorrow in the Hanley Hall parking lot in Smiths Falls from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The fundraiser supports Bridge House transitional housing initiatives. Vehicle registration is $35. For information, email annmbjohnson@gmail.com.
Lanark County OPP members will take part in the 2026 Special Olympics Torch Run tomorrow in Carleton Place. The run begins at 2 p.m. from the OPP detachment on Coleman Street and ends at town hall on Bridge Street. Volunteers will collect cash donations supporting Special Olympics training and competition programs.
The Coyote River Band will perform a Y2K country-themed concert tomorrow at the Station Theatre in Smiths Falls. The show runs from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tickets are available through Eventbrite. Organizers say the performance will feature country favourites from the early 2000s performed live by the band.
The first annual Lanark County Fishing Show and Tackle Swap will take place tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Brunton Hall near Carleton Place. Organizers say the event will feature tackle vendors, private sellers and children’s activities. Admission includes food bank donation discounts. Smiths Falls Comic Con returns tomorrow at the Smiths Falls Memorial Community Centre from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Legendary comic artist Dan Day will headline the event. Organizers encourage food bank donations while offering comics, collectibles, games and family activities throughout the day.
Lanark County Interval House hosts the Golf Fore Change Charity Tournament tomorrow 11 a.m.–7 p.m., at Mississippi Golf Club, Almonte. The fundraiser supports programs addressing gender-based violence. Golfers and sponsors invited to participate.
